The first Minim House was commissioned by Brian Levy in Washington DC 2013, who worked closely with Foundry Architects to design the structure, and David Bamford at Element Design+Build to construct it.  The house has won 3 AIA design awards and has been featured on ABC, Bill Moyers & Co, CBSNPR’s Kojo Nnambi Show, and in DwellApartment Therapy, Architectural DigestInhabitatTreehugger, HGTVTiny House DesignTiny House Swoon, Tiny House Nation (TV), Tiny House JoyTiny House Living (book), Small House Bliss, Studio Shed,  Gizmag, Urban Turf, Washington Post, and Washingtonian Magazine.

As folks saw the house, many asked for plans to build the house themselves, and Minim Homes was born.  About 95 sets of plans have shipped around the world, and builds are underway in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and across the U.S. Many more asked for completed houses, so Minim Homes partnered with Minim Built to deliver finished houses to customers. Today there are 3 of us that are working together to bring you the best microhouses around.
